iTunes App Store app now includes the new iCloud sync button in the list of Purchased item for any apps that was purchased by the Apple ID but not installed onto the iOS device in question.

I saw this sign next to an aisle near the Express Checkout cashiers within Taste supermarket at Hopewell today. The English translation of this sign really lost its original Chinese meaning.

The proper English translation from the Chinese portion of the sign is "If you like Express Checkout service, please queue up at the next aisle."

May be the sign make just doesn't know how to use smaller font size to fit all that into the sign.

A freak accident between a bus and a car has paralyzed traffic in Central, Hong Kong.

It is blocking East bound traffic of Des Voeux Rd and West of Pedder St.

So many stores in Hong Kong and other Asia countries force their staff to randomly screams out "Welcome to XXXXX". Ninety-nine percent of the time these staff will be doing something else, like restocking. Never do I see these staff look at the intended patrons to sincerely "welcomes" them.

How do these stores expect to create a welcoming atmosphere with these tactics? Or am I wrong in thinking that's what they intended?

The newly renovated Palace cinema at IFC has a set of video screens outside showing previews. So far that's nothing special, but some designer decides to place the video screens in portrait orientations for this purpose.

How many videos that you know of are filmed in portrait orientation; except for the iPhone and iPod touch. Results are videos shown with it's subject stretched vertically.

This is an example of design not focus on form and function.

The posters for the boarded up Apple Store is now up. They are just generic IFC Mall posters used during any store renovations, but the one thing of note is the date. It states "A new destination is landing Q4 2011", this is disappointing since most estimations of this kind are usually under estimates.

So if this is the case Hong Kong may not get its first Apple Store until mid to late Fall 2011.
